about gabrielle
Hello!
I grew up in the rolling hills of Tennessee, but easily turned into a New Yorker after university. NYC was a wonderful time in my life that taught me many life lessons, but now happily living with my partner in Australia.
I studied for four years at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking, and gained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I concentrated on film production. After graduating, I worked on multiple film and television projects in New York City. These projects ranged from small personal independent projects and larger projects on HBO, Netflix, Disney, ABC and NBC.
While living in NYC I grew an Instagram following based on food in the city and on my travels. This account opened up other doors of opportunities while teaching myself the interworkings of the social media world. This Instagram account turned me into an “influencer” when all I wanted to do was to create art and improve my photography and video skills.
Seeking change I moved to Australia and studied Graphic Design earning a Cert IV while working as an freelance photographer. I went on to further my scuba training and completed my Dive Master certification, became a Freedive Instructor, a flexibility-specific yoga instructor, and breath coach.
I changed my career path from filmmaking to work in the water. Working as a scuba diving guide, in-water guide specifically with whale sharks, humpback whales and underwater photography. Using my background with filmmaking on another level with the underwater world. I am still working in the water, and love to show people the beautiful reef that I call home.
During my off time, I volunteer with Marine Rescue assisting with search and rescue missions. I enjoy helping the community and being part of a small group of people wanting to keep others safe on the water.
I also really enjoy taking selfies underwater.
